Skills Competition - Saturday 19 August
In this tournament: The 3rd & last for this season. Each one gets better for this new event.
- Participants will play 1 end on their own on rink 1
- Then play back on rink 2
- Continue in this fashion until they have played all 8 rinks.
- Each rink will have a different challenge, each with their own point allocation
- A volunteer will verify the points earned for that rink, and will reset for the next person.
- Participants can rejoin at rink 1, and repeat if they want.
- The best of their 2 cards will then be entered on to the master list.
- They are also encouraged to volunteer to supervise one of the rinks while the original volunteer have a go.
- The event will run from 10am to 2pm, so people can come at their convenience.
- The event is open to all bowlers from any club.
- Refreshments will be provided by the Royal
Volunteer to help set up.

The second one went better. We had 18 people out. Randy holds the title with 20 points: Donna with 18. Others did not do so well, but judging from the comments, it seems that the course is still to tough. My thought is that you find your own level, and take the shorter mat when available. You are just competing against yourself, even though we keep a tally.
I was a little disappointed that we didn't get anyone from other clubs. maybe because they didn't know what to expect, so here is the course for the next, and last one this season.
Just 8 people showed up for the last event. 3 from Royal - 4 from Commonwealth - 1 from Highlands.
I use the excuse that there are other things going on for bowling this week.
The grass was very slow, but we overcame that, the top scorer was Greg with 9 points. I think that Wolfgang & Ruth did well, but didn't keep any score. Try again next year!
